Enlight perspective building workshop held in Chennai
From March 6th to 8th, a perspective-building workshop was conducted for the Enlight project team at the Beverly Hotel in Chennai. The team consisted of members from various cities such as Bangalore, Salem, Trichy, Coimbatore, and Chennai.
The workshop began with opening remarks from Mr. Sajeev, Chief Executive Officer of Aide et Action (India) and Director of the Program Development and Support Unit in South Asia. He provided an overview of Enlight 2.0.
The next session was conducted by Mr. Vadivel, an SSA Supervisor in Karur, Tamil Nadu, with over 15 years of training experience. He provided insights into teaching methodologies, teaching learning materials, ways to interact with children, and engagement with children. He also spoke about the effective use of learning materials.
On the second day, Ms. Hilda Paul, a resource person from Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in Tiruvallur, conducted an interactive session that included activities such as writing prompts and "figure me out." She also discussed the six learning modes used in government schools, learning techniques, seven themes, and different teaching and learning approaches that utilize Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs).
On the third and final day, Ms. Radhika Ramesh provided a detailed orientation on AEA's "Protection Against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse" (PASEA) policy to the project team. Additionally, the team visited the Child Support Centers at Enlight Chennai as part of their field visit.
Overall, the perspective-building workshop was successful in helping the project team gain insights into effective teaching methodologies, learning techniques, and in building their perspective on the project goals and objectives.
