AEA International Director General inaugurates STEM laboratory in Chennai
Trichy, 16th June 2022: During his recent visit to India, Mr. Charles-Emmanuel Ballanger, the International Director General of Aide et Action, had the opportunity to visit the Enlight project in Trichy. One of the highlights of his visit was the inauguration of a STEM laboratory at Ponnaiah Hr Sec School, specifically aimed at empowering the girl children belonging to manual scavenging families. This state-of-the-art laboratory will play a crucial role in enhancing the girls' knowledge and practical skills in science and mathematics.
Mr. Charles-Emmanuel had the pleasure of interacting with the girls, who impressed him with their innovative science and technology project presentations, showcasing their academic abilities. The visit continued with a stop at the Child Support Centre, where these girls receive valuable academic support to further enhance their educational skills. Accompanying Mr. Charles-Emmanuel were Mr. Ravi Pratap Singh, the Regional Director - South Asia and International Program Director of Aide et Action, as well as Mr. Sajeev Balan, the CEO of Aide et Action (India).
The Enlight project in Trichy, supported by Capgemini, focuses on reaching out to 270 girl children. Furthermore, the project's impact extends beyond Trichy, as it is implemented in 12 cities, benefiting over 2500 girl children facing challenging circumstances. This collaborative effort between Aide et Action and its partners aims to empower and uplift these girls, providing them with educational opportunities and a brighter future.
