Career guidance program to help girl children of minority community chalk out career paths
Bengaluru09 Feb, 2021
The career choices confound the best of the students, especially those who belong to marginalized communities. The lack of exposure to the job opportunities may also destine the children to a lifetime working culture as casual laborers without any job security.
To address this hurdle, the ENLIGHT project in Bengaluru organized a career guidance program for all the girl children studying in 9th, 10th, and 11th standards. The program focused on introducing diverse career and livelihood opportunities to 39 girl children belonging to the Muslim community, which is into traditional agarbatti (incense sticks) making.
