International Women's Day celebrated in Chennai

On March 16th, 2023, the Enlight project in Chennai celebrated International Women's Day at Govt. High School Kovilpadhagai, with the presence of key executives and enthusiastic employees from Capgemini. The event began with a welcome speech by Mr. Sajeev, CEO of AEA(India) & Director of Programme Development & Support, AEAI (South Asia), who highlighted the national-level impact of the Enlight project. The Capgemini team, including Mr. Allen Gilbert (COO, FS India), Mr. Nithyanand (FS CSR LEAD, India), Mrs. Jagadeeswari Krishnamoorthy (Director, Delivery Executive, Synchrony), Mr. Prakash Chandrasekaran (Director, ASCEND), and 14 Capgemini employees, graced the event.

Mrs. Jagadeeswari Krishnamoorthy, Director, Delivery Executive, Synchrony, delivered a special address emphasizing the importance of girls' education. She highlighted the positive impact of education on society, the nation, and the world as a whole. Mothers, school headmistresses, and panchayat leaders also shared their experiences and the benefits they witnessed through the Enlight project.

During the program, the key officials and employees from Capgemini visited the STEM lab at Govt. High School Kovilpadhagai and witnessed the effective functioning of the lab. The Enlight girl children demonstrated Science and Maths TLMs (Teaching and Learning Materials) during this session. Additionally, the chief guests unveiled the "Stepping Stones: Impact Stories" booklet, which showcased the stories of children who have benefited from the project between 2017 and 2022. An impact video for the Enlight project was also shown, featuring testimonials from parents, stakeholders, and children who have experienced the project's benefits across India.

Furthermore, students from various Child Support Centres participated in a cultural activity that focused on highlighting the value of women. They showcased their interests in traditions, education, personality development, and life skills. Parents from the Pandeswaram and Kalaignr Nagar Centers shared personal stories of how the project has positively impacted their lives and the growth and development of their children.
